December 2007: Clerk Fencing awarded the supply & installation of high security fencing to Kilroot Power Station by ALSTOM, in consortium with AMEC, from AES Kilroot Power Ltd to retrofit two 220 MW coal/oil-fired generating units at its Kilroot power plant in Northern Ireland. As part of the entire project at Kilroot, new technology being installed will reduce the level of harmful emissions from the power station. Kilroot applied to install FGD equipment to comply with the European Large Combustion Plant (LCPD) Directive that limits greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired plant and comes into force from January 1, 2008.
